Family Restoration Services (FRS) provides an array of services to emotionally disabled youth requiring supportive services to stabilize in their own homes. Family Restoration seeks to restore optimal health to the body, mind, and spirit. In this respect, our mission is to offer youth and families restorative counsel to repair dysfunctional homes, build healthy familial relationships, and to curb negative behaviors and attitudes through fitness and nutritional activities, therapeutic interventions and community partnering.

FRS believes each child deserves an opportunity to be involved in something he/she enjoys, explore talents and dreams and to gain passion for life and living through achieving excellence. FRS sets a standard for participation in various activities that allows youth access to social and recreational opportunities, with same age, non- disabled peers. Youth are escorted into natural settings with a therapeutic agent who experientially teaches discipline, self-control, respect for authority, positive peer relations, and life-saving lessons only gained through these types of real life experiences. FRS employs highly competent and skilled individuals that believe in success and motivational concepts that encourage achievement in every relevant environment of a child’s life.

We are seeking Therapeutic Sports Specialists to facilitate therapeutic sports and/or fitness opportunities to emotionally challenged youth to curb negative attitudes and behaviors, redirect aggression, and provide healthier and therapeutic social and recreational outlets for at-risk youth. Specialists will work as an independent contractor between 5 and 20 hours a month per assigned case/youth. Qualified candidates should be able to work independently in the client’s home and other community settings and be able to exercise appropriate clinical judgment in potentially threatening or serious situations.

Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Provide direct supervision, monitoring and behavior intervention to emotionally challenged youth;
  • Provide supportive counseling, motivational training and encouragement to emotionally disturbed youth in effort to meet stated goals;
  • Apply therapeutic interventions to deescalate behaviors to keep consumers safe;
  • Complete required documentation on youth’s progression toward stated goals;
  • Provide feedback, as needed, to parents, referral sources, and related providers;
  • Assess youth’s progression and need for change in individualized service/fitness plan to reach optimal results;
  • Monitor nutritional needs and encourage healthier dietary exchanges;
  • Attend monthly sporting activities and community service activities;
  • Monitor physical and dental need;

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field with one year experience working with emotionally/behaviorally challenged youth or equivalent experience.

Family Restoration Services is seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to apply and interpret therapeutic standards to a variety of clients with substance abuse and/or emotional impairments. Counselor will use cognitive-behavioral skill-building techniques and administer Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI) evaluations. Counselor will employ evidence-based practice (EBP) in conjunction with a therapeutic community approach to provide an immediate effect on the progress of treatment and improve the quality of life. This role is an independent contractor role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist client with identifying rehabilitation goals and develop treatment plans
  • Interview client on medical history or to obtain other pertinent information and evaluate the condition of the client
  • Work with family members to provide both drug education and counseling intervention
  • Prepare clinical documentation and reports
  • Provide a monthly assessment identifying progress and continuous improvement needs to reach optimal results
  • Obtain urine specimens from client when required
  • Formulates and conducts programs to promote prevention
  • Prepare clinical documentation and maintains reports and case histories

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum education/experience:

  • Current and valid State Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification recognized by the VA Board of Professional Counselors or adequate training or a Master’s in Addiction Counseling
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field with three or more years working as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC); Master’s in Addiction counseling or related field preferred
  • Experience working with emotionally/behaviorally challenged youth
  • Experience interfacing with court services unit and preparing assessments that satisfy a court order
  • Adequate education includes training (totaling 300 clock hours) in each of the areas below:
  • Understanding the dynamics of human behavior
  • Signs and symptoms of substance abuse;
  • Treatment approaches, group dynamics and other adjunctive treatment and recovery support groups;
  • Continuum of care and case management skills;
  • Recovery process and relapse prevention models;
  • Ethics
  • Professional identity in the provision of substance abuse services
  • Crisis intervention.
  • Substance abuse counseling treatment and planning and research

In this role, you oversee daily activities, provide youth homework assistance and work to curb negative attitudes and behaviors. Specialists will work part-time between the hours of 1 pm and 6 pm. Qualified candidates should be able to exercise appropriate clinical judgment in potentially threatening or serious situations. Male applicants are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be able to drive a 16-passenger van.

Responsibilities and Duties include:

Intensive In-Home (IIH) services is designed to address the identified needs of children and adolescents, who due to serious and chronic symptoms of an emotional, behavioral are unable to remain stable in the community without intensive interventions. This medically necessary service directly addresses the recipient’s mental health and clinical needs. This is a time-limited, intensive child and family intervention based on the clinical needs of the youth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify family strengths, names their needs and concerns, and collaborates to create an effective Individualized Service Plan.
  • Identify, implement and teach creative, effective intervention.
  • Collaborates with the family to provide ongoing individual, family support and determine behavioral health needs and develop services tailored to increase the child’s success at home, school and in the community
  • Works with clients to foster the development of improved coping, problem solving, and communication skills along with any goals as directly related to the client’s individualized service plan
  • Develops individualized service plans in conjunction with referring agencies, other social service professionals directly involved in the care of the youth and their families served
  • Assumes self-empowerment, when applicable, to solve problems and act on opportunities, but maintains good communication with supervisor to be sure of the appropriateness of the actions taken

Minimum education/experience: have master’s degree in psychology from an accredited college or university with at least one year of clinical experience; or have a social work bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least one year of clinical experience with children or adolescents; or have at least a bachelor’s degree in a human services field or in special education from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience with children and adolescents

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

  • Registered with the Board of Counseling as a QMHP-C and maintain registration
  • Current certifications in crisis management and CPR and First Aid.
  • Current Driver’s License with favorable driving record required (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, no more than 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years, no DUIs in the last 5 years).
  • Applicants must have a personal vehicle for client transportation and current auto insurance

Family Restoration Services is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Outpatient Therapist to provide ongoing assessment, crisis intervention, individual and family therapy, and case management. The role develops and monitors service plans, monitors treatment progress, documents interactions, and maintains clinical records and other reporting data for consumers with mild to severe mental illness, disorders, and or disabilities. The therapist will coordinate with internal as well as external supportive services to deliver needed services to the consumer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides services to clients as assigned
  • Conducts crisis intervention via telephone and face-to-face treatment. Intervene and de-escalate crises with clients. Assess the risk of harm to self or others and arrange needed resources
  • Observes clients in a variety of situations; Assess the mental status of the consumer; Assist clients in formulating treatment plans and goals; Perform case management services as needed to assist the client in meeting their goals as stated in their service/treatment plans; Refer clients/consumers to supportive services such as vocational, medical, social services, housing authority, etc.
  • Advocates for consumers in many different forums, including at the federal, state, and local court systems, with family, school system etc.
  • Assists consumers in improving their well-being and quality of life by training in behavioral skills; educate consumers to make informed choices; develop consumer coping skills; help consumers to problem solve and negotiate tasks of daily living.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work collaboratively with a team approach and research, plan, monitor, and implement creative and innovative interventions, tools, strategies, and resources to stabilize the family
  • Maintains close and cooperative relationships with community agencies and other public agencies in carrying out treatment/service plans
  • Develops written treatment plans/updates and continuing care plans and make appropriate referrals: Maintains client records in accordance with agency standards: Attends staff meetings/clinical supervision and other required meetings as assigned
  • Completes written discharge summaries and correspondence within established timelines

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum education/experience:
